Dave and his wife Heather have lived in Glenview for over 35 years.  They have two adult children – Stephen and Stephanie -- and one grandson -- David Matthew, b 11/2/06.

Dave was first elected to the Glenview Library Board of Trustees in 2003. He’s been Chairman of the Library’s Legislative Committee for the past four years, interacting closely with the Village Board and with our representatives in the State Legislature.

For the past two years, he’s also served on the Village & Library Joint Administrative Committee which worked together to establish the Intergovernmental Agreement that got us the funding to build a new Library for Glenview.

For the past year, Dave has also served as Vice President of the Library.

Dave graduated from the Illinois Institute of Technology with a degree in Electrical and Environmental Engineering and a Masters Degree in Business Administration. He also holds a 2002 MS in Computer Science from Northeastern Illinois University and will complete a Graduate Certificate in Geographical Information Systems from Penn State in March.

Dave is a retiree of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago where he was employed for 27 years until his retirement in 1997. He currently serves as a Senior Public Service Administrator with the State of Illinois and runs his own consulting firm, BDS Software, located here in Glenview.

Dave is Past President of the North Shore Chapter of the Illinois Society of Professional Engineers and former Illinois Representative to the National Society of Professional Engineers’ Professional Engineers in Government Practice Section. Dave served for many years as a coach in Glenview Youth Baseball and as a manager in Glenview Youth Hockey. Dave is currently a member of Character Counts in Glenview and a Partner of the Maine Center Youth Assistance Foundation.

Dave is also currently serving as Chairman of the Maine Township Planning Commission (2005-2009).
